Interactive Volumetric Video Streaming over 5G using L4S
ABSTRACT
Rendering high-quality volumetric video for mixed reality services on mobile devices is challenging because of energy consumption and complexity. It becomes even more challenging when the volumetric objects can interact with the user and need to be animated to do so. Remote rendering moves the computational load to an edge cloud, but requires an ultra-low latency streaming system to remain unnoticeable to the user. This talk will provide an overview of the components of a remote rendering streaming system, focusing on the generation and formats for interactive volumetric video and distribution over 5G networks using Adaptive Managed Latency with L4S to ensure stable latency.
