Albert Heuberger

Albert Heuberger finished his studies of electrical engineering at the Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen- Nuremberg in 1987 and his PhD from the same university in 2005. He joined the Fraunhofer-Institute for Integrated Circuits IIS in 1987 and worked as head of the communication systems department until May 2008. In this position he was responsible for contract research for digital broadcasting transmission. Since June 2008 he has been full professor at the Ilmenau University of Technology and head of the Digital Broadcasting Research Laboratory as well as head of the Fraunhofer research group for Digital Broadcasting. His research interests are transmission systems for digital broadcasting applications with focus on channel modeling and QoS prediction for satellite and terrestrial broadcasting systems. He is also giving lectures at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg and the German University in Cairo.
